Kellie and Nathan became husband and wife in charming style at Hughes Park – just out of Clare. It was with so much honour that I was able to photograph a marriage with so much love especially on such an exceptional day filled with gorgeous sparkling light. Every moment and every detail were just extraordinary with so many special touches, Richie’s Relish as the bomboniere’s (Kellie’s Dads recipe), the menu with some of Nathan and Kellie’s favourite foods the handing over of the rings from Nathan’s dad, and many more. This exquisite location offered a backdrop of breathtaking rustic tranquility, especially the gums which were Kellies favourite. From the touching moments between Kellie and her niece to the heart touching speech of the Grooms, made this even such a memortable day for all. Their adoring families, stylish wedding party and jubilant friends showered this gorgeous couple completely in genuine love.
I asked Kellie and Nathan before the wedding if they felt comfortable, if they would share with us all something silly or quirky the other person does?
Kellie – I think it’s so cute when he stands with his feet perfectly together like a little boy, without even realising, and promptly tells me to “shut up” when he realises this is what I’m giggling about. I love it when he shakes his booty for me as he walks out to go to work.
Nathan – Kellie is always laughing at silly little memes or Vines. She has a humour for some odd things ha-ha. She also is a serial smotherer. I have nick named her the ‘fog’ at any opportunity she can consume you haha….but I love it
Kellie and Nathan number one moment of their wedding day…
Kellie – the number one moment of the day was “saying our vows to one another” They wrote their our own vows, and as they were written from different perspectives, she felt that it gave a snippet of how they each think about things, and how in the end they both always come back to the same value.
Nathan’s number one moment was also the vows and seeing his beautiful wife stand before him. He also loved getting ready in the morning, and when his Mum pinned two family heirlooms inside his pocket, and his father helping him get ready for the big day.
I also asked the lovely couple after their wedding day for their memorable moments of the day… And I just had to leave Kellies response in word for word… LOVE IT!!
“Memorable moments…. hmmm… oh how about our little snake friend? haha
Honestly this was really quite exciting as I’m not particularly scared of snakes, and it actually felt like he was there to say hello more than anything else. And after receiving a lovely message congratulating us on our day, I feel even more blessed that he popped by; the message said – “I had a chuckle seeing the photo of the snake surprising you all… only to learn that snakes symbolise fertility, transformation, rebirth, and creative life force; for they shed their skin for a new stage of life.. That snake was on a mission yesterday…”
I also had some very special visitors as we girls were getting ready at Hughes Park Cottage,… I went outside for some fresh air, and the entire lawn was COVERED with butterflies, easily over 100 fluttering around! It was actually quite overwhelming it was so beautiful, I was literally sitting with them as they flew around me. I truly believe it was our Nanna letting us know she was there watching.
(Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life. Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls. The Christian religion sees the butterfly as a symbol of resurrection. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life.)
Nathan’s vows and speech would have to be another two favs… those moments concreted the fact that I have married the most thoughtful, loving person, who accepts me inside and out – and what could be better than that!
The Food. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better feast in my life. Seriously if I was on death row, I would request this as my last meal. We had an interactive style dinner where all the dishes were in the centre of the tables and guests could eat whatever they wanted. We wanted to serve some of our most favourite foods as another reflection of us, and man it was a hit!!!
As I reflect more, I wouldn’t change a thing. We were surrounded by the most amazing friends and family anyone could ask for.. The whole day represented what we are about as a couple, and we had an amazing time dancing and partying til stumps.”
Kellie and Nathan, I count my lucky stars that I was able to witness the first day you called each other husband and wife. I wish you both happiness, love and health.

Ashlea and Anthony’s wedding was held at the beautiful Glen Ewin Estate, and it was a special celebration. Every detail of this beautiful marriage was completely delightful and I am sure you will be swept up into the magic and emotion. We had glorious sunlight, had some cloud coverage, and we even had a few spots of rain which added some sparkle to their photos that will remain in their memories and heart. Their love for one another is clearly evident, with the smiles they shared and the way the looked at each other. Encircled by their joyful family, wedding party and friends, we are all honoured to have witnessed an unforgettable day.
If you didn’t know already, I absoutley love hearing how couples met. Here is Ashlea and Anthony’s amazing story by Ashlea.
“We met at Oktoberfest in Munich in 2013. Anthony was travelling through Europe on a Contiki tour and I was travelling around Europe with my younger brother (Jarred) and another friend. Anthony’s tour was only in Munich and attending Oktoberfest for one night, I was in Munich for 5 nights.
At Oktoberfest you must line up within the festival to enter specific tents and beer gardens, once you go in, you are seated at random by the hosts. Anthony and his mates happened to be seated at the table right next to the one where we were seated. While
I was lined up for the ladies room, Jarred overheard the aussie accent from the table next door, when some people left, he moved across to that table to chat with the fellow Australians. When I came back I ended up sitting next to Anthony. During this conversation we realised we were both from Adelaide, and actually lived only 15 minutes apart. Anthony thought that Jarred & I were dating (haha – gross!!), luckily that issue was cleared up pretty quickly and he was told that the relationship was actually brother – sister. After a few beers and some hilarious conversation Anthony asked if he could put his phone number in my phone, which I agreed to – it was saved as “Anthony – Nice guy from Adelaide”, really original haha. As the festival was closing both of our groups left together to try and find our way back to the train station. We managed to get lost, so we wondered the streets of Munich for around an hour before we finally managed to find the right train station, this obviously allowed for more chatting and getting to know each other. Both of us then got on our respective trains, Anthony going one way, and me going the other (let’s not leave out that we both got on the wrong trains initially).
We added each other on Facebook and the rest is pretty much history. We caught up the day after Anthony returned from Europe, our first date was to grab a coffee and take a long walk down Brighton beach. After that first date we never went more than a few days without seeing each other. We moved in together after only about 4 months of dating, which I’m sure sounds crazy to a lot of people!! Fortunately we both have amazing families who have been so supportive of our relationship right from the start, so that just made it so much easier.”
I love to hear about the proposal; and here is their story by Ashlea…
“Anthony proposed on our 2 year anniversary at Brighton Beach where we had our first date. He had planned an entire day of surprise activities for me, which was so thoughtful and lovely. I’d definitely never had anybody plan a day just for me before.
Every Friday for several months leading up to this ‘surprise day’ he would give me a hint about what kind of activities we would be doing. His hints were terrible, and even when I finally did guess an activity he still didn’t tell me haha. I definitely had a feeling a proposal might be coming, seeing as marriage was something we had talked about a lot. Anthony is completely useless at being deceptive; he normally has the truth written all over his face!
In the morning we went to Morialta Falls, we went on a beautiful scenic walk to see the waterfalls. We then went home and got changed, I was told to dress ‘nicely’. Anthony drove me out to K1 winery, a truly stunning cellar door in the Adelaide Hills. We did some wine tastings and sat out on the beautiful deck over the water, the weather was perfect. Then we went to D’Arenberg restaurant and had a delicious degustation lunch, I was certainly very spoilt!! On the way home, Anthony suggested we stop at the beach for a walk considering the weather was so nice, he took me down to Brighton Beach. We went for a walk along the water edge and he was definitely acting weird haha, so that kind of tipped me off. We then just sat on a towel on the sand for a while enjoying the beautiful weather, when we went to leave, I stood up and turned around and Anthony was on one knee and asked me to Marry him, he pulled out the most beautiful ring, I was speechless. After saying “are you serious?” about 5 times I managed to say yes. Hilariously he couldn’t remember which finger he was meant to put the ring on, so he just handed me the box!”
Wishing you both a lifetime of laughs, love and great times.

As I was driving out of Cummins on the morning of the wedding to meet the girls, the outside temperature on the car display said it was 31oC and it was only 9:30am! Thankfully the weather gods were on our side and with the help of a few spots of rain just before the ceremony, the temperature pleasantly cooled.
Guests were treated to a ‘mystery location’ for the ceremony and were whisked away via bus to Koolidie Homestead ruins – where Jayden’s forefathers once lived. It was the most perfectly charming and rustic setting for this deeply-in-love couple to tie the knot surrounded by their family and friends.
It was such a special day, full of love, laughter, and genuine emotion.
Ashlee and Jayden; you are two of the most delightful, down to earth, lovely, relaxed people I will ever be lucky enough to meet, and I was truly honoured to be chosen to capture the photographic memories of your first day as husband and wife.
I wish you both a lifetime of fun and that every day moving forward is better than the day before.
Thank you for letting me be a part of this day with you both.

Today I thought it was a great place to start with where Sarah and Sam met, cause you all know I love these stories… so…
“Years ago I had connected with Sam’s best friend (best man) Nick as they made music and were looking for female singers to record with. Nothing came of it at that stage but a couple of years later I had a new job and happened to bump into Nick on my work lunch break. He said since we had spoken last he and his business partner had built a proper studio and that I should come and meet him and work on some music with them. That business partner ended up being Sam, and the studio they built was at Sam’s house.
We would catch up for studio sessions every Friday night, and we all just had so much fun hanging out. Sam always gave me butterflies! With Nick having to go home because he had work the next day, Sam and I would always end up sitting in the studio hanging out and talking about life, usually until the early hours of the morning. I really enjoyed spending time with him and eventually I just started feeling like I always wanted to talk to him and looked forward to hearing from him… I couldn’t wait for Fridays/studio sessions to roll around!” Sarah said.
Now onto the wedding… Who could believe that for a February wedding we would have rain, and not only rain but literally 4 seasons in the one day. We took advantage of all the weather conditions and used them to our advantage! Did I mention it was also the start of Fringe, so lots of road closures… and Guns and Roses were playing at Adelaide oval, but we made it to get wedding photos on Adelaide’s North Tce!
Adelaide city centre was extremely busy, so this caused a few issues, but to see Sarah and her Dad overwhelmed with love and emotion during the father and daughter first look, Sarah and Sams love for each other during the ceremony and so much fun and laughter during the bridal party photos and reception made the day just magical. So many special moments to remember and cherish.
Sarah and Sam your love for each other and connection and love with your families is so beautiful. Wishing you both an awesome honeymoon and a long healthy and happy life together.
