Elise + Blake’s Engagement Session

Elise and Blake had known of each other since year 5, but Elise moved to QLD for 14 years and it wasn’t until she returned that they actually had time for each other! “When I moved back, I needed an accountant….enter Blake. He got me a good tax return so I figured the least I could do was accept his dinner invitation!” (Funny!)

The couple knew they had something special early on and had discussed getting married, choosing to design the engagement ring together. “Opal is my birthstone and I have loved opals for as long as I can remember! We had chosen the opal for my ring together in February and designed my ring with the jeweller. I have quite a non-traditional opal and diamond wedding ring. I knew it was coming and I was waiting not so patiently!”

“I had no idea where or how I would propose to Elise, so when I woke up that morning (Good Friday) and the weather was nice, I thought to myself today might be a great time. So I suggested that we go for a drive and as I was driving, I made my mind up where I would take her.” Blake drove near Fishery Bay where he popped the big question. “We arrived very late to our family lunch, but were excused when they found out why!”

They say accountants are boring, but Blake certainly isn’t, in fact some of his answers to our questionnaire had us giggling, and he obviously makes Elise laugh too. “I love Blake’s sense of humour and the fact that he is sensitive and can always tell when I have had a bad day.”

“I love Elise’s beautiful caring nature, not only for her friends and family but also the children she teaches every day. She truly puts everyone else’s needs before her own.” – Funny AND romantic. Winning!

Blake and Elise had an engagement shoot with Jade Norwood Photography as part of their wedding photography package. They thought it was a great way to get some nice photos and practice getting comfortable in front of the camera and with me – brilliant thinking! I love the unique engagement ring that they designed together and can’t wait to see what they have in store for their beautiful wedding day, bring on April 2015.

  1. Hi Jade,

Great photos they are!! Really appreciate your work!

Just wondering if these are shot in SA? I have been trying to find those rustic spear grass for landscape shooting but all I got are some very short ones in CBD LOL

Would you mind to advise where about did you find those long yellow spear grass scene please?

    Thanks!

    1. This was taken in a park in Port Lincoln SA.
      Where are you located?
I shoot in Adelaide alot also and there is plenty of this type of look over there also however you do have to travel outside of the CBD.
