So it’s time for a little wedding catch up!
I first met Hayley and Sam on their farm on the Eyre Peninsula for their engagement shoot. Most people would be seriously put out by there being rain on the day of their photoshoot, but not this relaxed couple, and the photos turned out beautifully. Hayley really liked the country style look for engagement photos, and the farm really gave us that natural setting we were after.
So when their engagement photos on the farm turned out so well, I knew I had to best myself for their Port Lincoln Wedding. Hayley and Sam were married on September 27th 2013 in a Church ceremony at St Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Port Lincoln, where the bride walked down an aisle of rose petals. Their reception was held at the Port Lincoln Hotel which as always was an awesome beach location for guests, and meant we got amazing wedding photos on the pool deck with the beach in the background as the sun went down.
The theme of their wedding was ‘elegant’, and when I first saw Hayley in her Baccini and Hill dress from Melbourne, I knew that the theme was really going to be done well! It was a truly glamorous and elegant silk wedding dress with beaded sleeves, simple, fitted yet flowy at the bottom and suited her perfectly. The long veil with a simple updo hairstyle only set off the classy wedding style further.
Bridesmaids wore black dresses from Zimmerann’s, which was complemented by the soft look of their gorgeous light pink wedding bouquets from Golden Sable Florist, Port Lincoln. The groom and his groomsmen were dressed by Tailors of Distinction of Unley in light grey suits and black ties and looked very stylish – even with one of the groomsmen adding crutches to his accessories – ouch!
With help from Port Lincoln Hotel Wedding Stylist, Heidi, the reception was a beautifully classy elegant affair. The ceiling and walls were draped in fairy lights for soft reception lighting, the delicious wedding cake was made by Sugar Daisy Cakes and white flowers and candles made up the centrepieces. Hayley and Sam also used their engagement photos for a wedding guest signing book – a really personal touch for their wedding day. We tried to emulate the same style of photographs in their wedding pictures, using natural lighting and locations to get that country look, but we also managed some rustic style wedding photos after a little location scouting!
The couple were really looking forward to the reception after the planning that was involved, and being the social pair that they are, they were most looking forward to seeing and spending time with all of their friends and family. The cocktail wedding reception had some beautiful personal touches for everyone to enjoy and was full of a lot of fun guests! When Hayley and Sam shared their first dance as husband and wife, you could really see the love in their eyes –a love that will no doubt take them well into the future. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Sam and Hayley Ness!
