Tahla + Kirks Wedding Day

I don’t think anyone will ever forget when Tahla and Kirk got married… for a bunch of reasons!! What a magical day it turned out to be! In the lead up to the wedding day, SA was hit with the worst storm in 50 years, days with out power, hours with no phone service, roads blocked, and did I mention extreme weather!! All these things add so many complications… The morning of the wedding when I went to the girls I couldn’t believe how relaxed Tahla was, I take my hat off to her and all the girls. In saying that Kirk and all the guys were super easy going and having fun also – making my work so much easier!!

I asked Tahla, how they first met…
“We first met at the beginning of 2012 when Kirk installed an air-conditioner at my mum and dad’s home – Kirk was in his first week of his apprenticeship and I was still living at home. Kirk’s bosses wife had been wanting Kirk and I to meet for a good year or so previously, however Kirk was oblivious to this. Numerous sightings of each other through Kirk’s work and then a facebook inbox lead to our first catch up breakfast at Moceans, followed by a day at the Streaky Bay Races.”

All about the proposal…
“Kirk proposed on the 7th of November in our beautiful home. I had driven to Port Lincoln for the day to pick up my sister Shellee from the airport, who unbeknowns to me was the courier of the engagement ring. Shellee sat patiently in the car for 3 hours holding onto the ring while remaining tight lipped and excited to get back to Streaky Bay to pass the ring onto Kirk.
Kirk spent the day at home preparing decorations to pop the question including candles and pebbles in the shape of a love heart, rose petals from our garden scattered around and a black board with a written message- ‘Tahla will you marry me?’
As we got out of the car Shellee slipped the ring box into Kirk’s pocket and she fleeted up to Kirk’s mum and dad’s house. Kirk greeted me and lead me into the house covering my eyes, he bent down on one knee and asked me to Marry him and of course I said YES. I even wrote my answer on the blackboard to confirm the engagement. We shared a special moment and were both absolutely ecstatic and excited. The proposal was very personal and suited us both down to the tee.
Kirk had organised a special tea at Moceans with our close family where we shared in yummy food, celebration drinks and the excitement continued.
Kirk felt excited about the engagement beginning the next chapter of our lives together, however he must admit there were a small amount nerves. Kirk was stoked that he knew this was a surprise for me and I was unaware of all the groundwork he had done in the lead up to the proposal.
Tahla – I was full of happiness, excitement and pride. I was extremely proud of Kirk and the romantic gesture and effort he had put into planning the engagement. I was surprised in that fact that I hadnt been aware of all the arrangements and organisation he had been doing in the months leading up to him proposing. Kirk was very sweet and romantic. And the look on his face was just beautiful.”

Despite the weather the bridal party along with Tahla and Kirk had an awesome time during photos, finding some spots that we could get out of the wind.

Tahla you looked stunning in you custom made Liza Emanuele gown and Kirk looked very handsome in his Roger David suit and bow tie.

I have to make mention of Sheep’s (Tahla’s Dad – Paul) speech… I have heard a lot of speeches now and I cant believe I managed to hold the camera still through all of my laughter.. It was the best father of the bride speech ever!

Your wedding day equation was – Cherished, family, friends & love.

Tahla and Kirk, I don’t have the words or articulation skills to thank you enough for allowing me to share in your wedding day, I loved every minute!

I wish you both every happiness for your future together, the love you share is infectious.
