I met Emily and Kym for their engagement session in Ceduna, the same place they had grown up and known each other for many years. While they didn’t go to school together, Kym and Emily knew each other through playing in the same sporting club, but didn’t really get to know each other until Emily returned to Ceduna after completing her Bachelor of Nursing in Adelaide.
“At the sports club, Em asked me to dance and I said no; the boys encouraged me so I did. Now the first song we danced to is Party in the USA….this won’t be repeated at the wedding!”
This very relaxed couple clearly share a lot of laughs together, and make the most of their spare time. “I have to work a lot of weekends due to shift work, so I really appreciate the time I get to spend with Kym on my days off, doing anything from weeding the backyard to spending a day at the beach.” Their casual and relaxed nature really shows in their engagement photos and they were so easy to work with.
Kym just couldn’t wait to propose to the love of his life. “Kym proposed to me one night in bed, it was fairly out of the blue and he didn’t have the ring, but that didn’t matter because I know he meant it. He was shaking he was so nervous! He said that he was planning on proposing in Adelaide that weekend after he had time to pick out a ring, but he just couldn’t wait!”
“I’m a very practical person, so I didn’t want to get the wrong ring, turns out I wouldn’t have to, so that was lucky!” With the beautiful engagement ring firmly in place on her left hand, Emily began the wedding planning using Pinterest and the ocean as the inspiration for her rustic washed out sea theme. “The wedding planning has been mostly fun, but a bit stressful having to decide on so much!”.
As part of their wedding photography, Emily and Kym chose to have an e-shoot, which is perfect for getting comfortable in front of the camera and even using the images for save the date card designs, or as a guest sign in book at the wedding. If I were them, I would have a hard time choosing just one picture to use! Can’t wait for their wedding… xx
