After Jo and Lee’s engagement shoot, I learnt there were 2 versions of their engagement story – the full version which Jo tells gives the full blown account and shows what a romantic Lee really is, but Jo prefers his version so he can keep that tough guy persona!
“I had been planning it for a few months. I had quizzed Jo on the style of ring she was hoping for but she would always shy away from the conversation. To avoid her getting suspicious I began having regular ‘golf’ games with my brothers, Ben and Joel, where we really just went shopping for a ring!”
“I had absolutely no idea that Lee was going to propose. I knew that he had plans to take me out for our 2nd anniversary but I had no idea what I was in store for. As the day went on there were times where I thought ‘ oh, this is a bit special’, but I didn’t want to let myself think that Lee was about to propose because I didn’t want to get my hopes up!”
But the (really romantic) Lee had it all planned out. “We went out for breakfast in Semaphore, then Jo was sent off for a massage and manicure. She then had some vouchers to buy an outfit to go out for dinner. After some icecream we went down to our local beach and I got down on one knee.”
“When he did ask, I was completely surprised but the happiest I’ve ever been. So happy that my cheeks were sore from smiling so much throughout that day and my eyes stinging from so many happy tears!”
It was back to the beach for their engagement photos, “We live near the beach so spending time swimming, walking etc (is what we like to do together)”. They met at work, and while it wasn’t love at first sight, it was something that slowly developed. “I knew Lee was the one when decided to take me on a date to Bingo – yes, the game bingo! I had mentioned I liked that game early on and this made me realise that he was interested and trying to impress me as much as i were him. He’s all about the little things, like saying ‘good morning beautiful’ every single morning.”
The engagement shoot with this young and fun couple was so natural, just like their love, and the adventures they have been on are only the beginning for them. Congratulations Lee and Jo.
