We first introduced Steffi and Andrew to you after their engagement shoot, where we learnt about how Steffi and Andrew met, and how when Steffi went to Germany to study, Andrew knew he couldn’t live without her. So it was my absolute pleasure to photograph their Australian wedding ceremony (essentially, their vow renewal as they had married overseas) because I knew how in love they truly are.
“We have achieved so many things together and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with Andrew.” Steffi says. And so on the 13th of April 2014, they made that commitment all over again in a relaxed rustic beach wedding ceremony at Davenport Creek. “We decided to have our ceremony at the creek because this is where we fell in love with each other. We also spend a lot of time there over summer.”
Their beautiful beach wedding ceremony was officiated by Reverend Sue Ellis, and Steffi looked absolutely stunning in her one of a kind wedding dress, by October Storm. The bridesmaids wore a bright blue dress from Forever New which looked magnificent in the beach and country surrounds. Of the things that Andrew and Steffi were looking forward to, the beach ceremony was one of them, as well as ‘seeing the decorations and cupcakes and of course the beautiful photos!’
Steffi said the planning was quite easy, as this was technically the ‘second time around’, but that she had to thank all the people that made it easier for her. “Jodie Ryan especially! Ursula Gilmore and Team (Bay Funktion), Lyn Smith, Kylie and Brad Bowman, Zippel’s Oysters, Bev Bergman, Lyn Beattie, Caroline Stott, Sue Eliss – everyone for their kind thoughts and words!”
After their beach wedding ceremony, the bride and groom celebrated into the night with friends and family – locals, and those from Germany – at their Ceduna Sailing Club wedding reception. Having family and friends coming together from around the world had been part of Steffi and Andrew’s wedding planning inspiration, and they’d planned their relaxed rustic beach wedding with their courtship and future in mind.
The reception décor was relaxed and decorated in a crisp clean style with a gorgeous view of the ocean right on the doorstep. White and yellow cupcakes were ready for the guests to tuck into, and frangipani’s and white starfish continued the beach wedding theme through the room. Guests were entertained by Ceduna band Anchord and it was clear that everyone had a lot of fun dancing the night away! It was so special to be a part of this Aussie wedding, helping Steffi and Andrew to celebrate their marriage and lifetime commitment once again. It was an absolutely stunning wedding day for a stunning couple and my pleasure to capture their love!
