Rohy + Georgia’s Wedding Day

Struck by fate is how you’d describe how Rohan and Georgia met. She was travelling with her parents who were visiting her in Ceduna while she was on her teaching placement. “We were heading to the creek when suddenly we see this car trying to overtake us. As they got along side us, I saw Rohy pointing at this fishing rod; it was dads, and had fallen off the Ute. We both pulled over, as Rohy gave dad the fishing rod, he looked in the car and we caught each other’s eyes. Rohy reckons I gave him ‘the biggest smile’. We then went our separate ways.”

But that wasn’t for long – Rohan had to know about this girl who he hadn’t met before, so he and his friend went to the creek looking for her. They had a bit of a chat, and after doing her own background research, Georgia knew she wanted to see him again. Being a small town it wasn’t going to be long before they were bumping into each other at local sport, friends get togethers and local events – they were too shy to start anything though….until ‘The Night At The Pub’. “I was intrigued as to whether Rohy would be there as he didn’t usually come to the pub. By chance, he got roped into coming with a few of his mates. It started with us casually talking by the bar, to us having our first kiss in front of all our friends and the whole pub chanting ‘Rohy!!! Rohy!!! Rohy!!!’. And if that wasn’t enough – we went back for seconds!” Must have been a good first kiss!

“The more we got to know each other, the more I knew he was the exact person for me,” Georgia says.

“When she kissed me goodbye at the pub after dinner with our friends. I think I knew (she was the one).“ Rohan said. He was waiting for the perfect time to propose, and would have done it earlier – but Georgia wasn’t in a good mood on the night he had planned to! “So I planned it to be on the next camping trip a few weeks later. As we were sitting around the fire I was thinking about asking her and whether or not I was actually going to do it or if it was the right time and then I just asked her because I knew she was perfect for me.”

“My response was a bit delayed, but not because I was thinking about my answer, but because it felt like my whole world had stopped and I was just so overjoyed. Of course I said ‘YES!’ followed by a million more yes’s, hugs and kisses. It was the best feeling ever and like nothing I had ever experienced before. That night I could not stop smiling and couldn’t wait to share the news!”

Georgia and Rohan aren’t afraid to show how much love they have for each other and it was so obvious on their wedding day.

I remember some the celebrants words, I think this sums Rohy up as a person beautifully… He was in a motorbike race, with the celebrants son, the son had fallen off, and Rohy stopped mid race to see if he was ok. The son said im fine just go Rohy go… Rohy said oh yeah… Off he went… But at the end of the race he stoped so the son could win because he was winning the series and deserved to win!! What a guy!

Even though it was a windy day no one let it dampen their spirits, the bridal party had fun in the bus and as Rohy loves his motorbikes it only fitting we go to the track for some bridal party photos!!

We didn’t have much time left for bridal party photos by the time we got to our next location but Geogrgia and Rohy are just gorgeous it was easy to smash out what we needed.. I did ask them if I could keep them all evening and keep shooting!!

Brought together by fate…and a fishing rod – it’s clear these two are going to be spending many, many happy years together. Congratulations on a wonderful day.
