It was a stormy day when I woke for Sarah and Trent’s Partridge House wedding, and I was excited! I know usually brides don’t like to have rain on their wedding day, but as a wedding photographer, those stormy clouds make for amazing photo backdrops, and with a plan for wedding photos on the beach at Glenelg, my shutter finger was already ticking in anticipation!
Sarah and Trent are a beautiful couple who were married on March 15th, 2014. Their Adelaide wedding ceremony was held at Partridge House, and wedding reception at the Grand Stamford Hotel. The easy going couple were looking forward to an intimate wedding ceremony, and a classic and elegant reception, themed silver and white with a touch of bling (check out her touch of bling amazing wedding shoes!).
The wedding ceremony had to be moved indoors at Partridge House with the dodgy weather, but it didn’t change how lovely it was. The look on Trent’s face when he first saw his bride was so sweet, and he just couldn’t take his eyes off of her!
The couple wanted to honour their mother’s during their wedding ceremony, and chose to hold a rose ceremony– it was very clear in those touching moments how close they all are. It was a beautifully planned ceremony at the iconic wedding venue, Partridge House, “(It was a) bit hectic trying to fit it (the wedding planning) in around work. I didn’t think it would be so detailed and never thought I would be so fussy!”
Trent and Sarah are undeniably in love, as you can see in their beautiful wedding photos, and are a couple that enjoy going out for dinner (their first date was at Windy Point Restaurant), fishing, and going away on holidays in general. It was on a surprise holiday that Trent popped the question, “Trent whisked me away for a surprise weekend in Sydney…he proposed on a harbour cruise and took me for a helicopter ride over the city the following day.” Trent, we must say, you are setting the bar high! “He is very caring and thoughtful,” says Sarah. “(I’ve) never met a more thoughtful person.” Sarah was missing Trent a lot after their night apart, and couldn’t wait to see him on their wedding day.
The dark skies were brightened with beautiful bridal bouquets of bright pinks, dark purples and soft pinks and whites. Sarah wore a beautiful flowing wedding dress with a sparkling diamond detailed belt and neckline. She was complimented by the silver bridesmaids dresses which had their own touch of bling. I loved the personal touch of their wedding date and names on the personalised wedding car ribbon and having a harpist play before the wedding ceremony was magical. After some photos in the Partridge House Gardens, it was time for wedding photos in Glenelg and the reception at the Stamford Grand Hotel.
