A Unique Wedding with a Modern Country Feel and DIY detail

Quentin and Natasha’s gorgeous Wedding

Quentin had his eyes on Natasha a long time before they got together ‘officially’. “I always noticed Natasha walking to the bus stop. Seeing her made me feel happy.” Despite chatting on and off for a few months, it wasn’t until Quentin’s cousin took on the role of matchmaker that they made moves towards each other. “I (Natasha) was working at the Wirrulla Pub in the kitchen and we were very busy. Calise kept coming in to see if I was nearly finished, and even did some of the dishes to hurry me up! Once I had finished Calise had me at the bar talking to Quentin straight away – she didn’t want any time to be wasted. We talked until the pub closed. It was really nice and a great night – a bit embarrassing as my parents were there. My mum thought it was great and invited Quentin for a roast the next night!” That was the end of singledom for these two love birds.

Life threw Quentin a curveball, and when Natasha stuck by him, he knew she was the one. “Her support through my medical condition made me realise that she was here for a long time, not a short time. “ Natasha soon realised that it was Quentin she needed most ‘I felt that I was not as happy as when I was with Quentin….that’s when I knew that I couldn’t be apart from him.”

Quentin had started thinking about proposing to Natasha before he fell ill, but plans fell by the wayside. It wasn’t until he was on the road to recovery that he finally had some chances to buy the engagement ring he knew Natasha would love. “I had planned to propose to Natasha February 10th, 2012, which is our anniversary, but our friends were getting married the day before and I wanted the weekend to be their special day. So January 10th 2012 was the date. I asked Natasha’s parents the night before for their permission.”

N: “Quentin suggested heading to Eba to watch the sunset and I thought it would be lovely….Quentin seemed to keep going back to the ute – he did surprise me with wine, but he does that some times.”

Q: “I was a bit nervous, I went to the ute and grabbed my jacket and the ring. I walked in front of Natasha and got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said “REALLY!” and I knew she didn’t see it coming. She got a bit teary and finally said ‘yes’. I felt so relieved and happy!” (See their beach and country engagement photos here)

Natasha and Quentin were married in Streaky Bay, in a truly beautiful personalised wedding. Instead of traditional flowers, Natasha had made beautiful paper flowers with help from her bridesmaids in a brilliant purple.  Surrounded by family and friends they celebrated their true love and understanding of each other.

As a family, they shared a special moment by visiting Quentin’s Grandma in hospital. You could see how much it meant to everyone there, and the photos captured at this time are what we truly call priceless.

The reception venue was decorated with up-lighting, which added beautiful ambience and is wonderfully fancy! There was a photobooth at the reception which was an absolute hoot, and the whole bridal party was so fantastic to work with, relaxed and full of laughs. We had a lot of fun taking wedding photographs on the beach, in the shearing shed and in rustic country settings, and it was so beneficial to have a second photographer working with me to capture those special moments throughout the day – after all I can’t be in two places at once!

Natasha was a beautiful bride and Quentin a handsome groom. Their love was obvious and their entire wedding was so well planned, with lots of hand made work that went into making it a unique wedding. Sending my biggest congratulations to them, and I hope you continue to have just as much fun in your new life as husband and wife.
