Kellie and Nathan became husband and wife in charming style at Hughes Park – just out of Clare. It was with so much honour that I was able to photograph a marriage with so much love especially on such an exceptional day filled with gorgeous sparkling light. Every moment and every detail were just extraordinary with so many special touches, Richie’s Relish as the bomboniere’s (Kellie’s Dads recipe), the menu with some of Nathan and Kellie’s favourite foods the handing over of the rings from Nathan’s dad, and many more. This exquisite location offered a backdrop of breathtaking rustic tranquility, especially the gums which were Kellies favourite. From the touching moments between Kellie and her niece to the heart touching speech of the Grooms, made this even such a memortable day for all. Their adoring families, stylish wedding party and jubilant friends showered this gorgeous couple completely in genuine love.
I asked Kellie and Nathan before the wedding if they felt comfortable, if they would share with us all something silly or quirky the other person does?
Kellie – I think it’s so cute when he stands with his feet perfectly together like a little boy, without even realising, and promptly tells me to “shut up” when he realises this is what I’m giggling about. I love it when he shakes his booty for me as he walks out to go to work.
Nathan – Kellie is always laughing at silly little memes or Vines. She has a humour for some odd things ha-ha. She also is a serial smotherer. I have nick named her the ‘fog’ at any opportunity she can consume you haha….but I love it
Kellie and Nathan number one moment of their wedding day…
Kellie – the number one moment of the day was “saying our vows to one another” They wrote their our own vows, and as they were written from different perspectives, she felt that it gave a snippet of how they each think about things, and how in the end they both always come back to the same value.
Nathan’s number one moment was also the vows and seeing his beautiful wife stand before him. He also loved getting ready in the morning, and when his Mum pinned two family heirlooms inside his pocket, and his father helping him get ready for the big day.
I also asked the lovely couple after their wedding day for their memorable moments of the day… And I just had to leave Kellies response in word for word… LOVE IT!!
Kellie:
“Memorable moments…. hmmm… oh how about our little snake friend? haha
Honestly this was really quite exciting as I’m not particularly scared of snakes, and it actually felt like he was there to say hello more than anything else. And after receiving a lovely message congratulating us on our day, I feel even more blessed that he popped by; the message said – “I had a chuckle seeing the photo of the snake surprising you all… only to learn that snakes symbolise fertility, transformation, rebirth, and creative life force; for they shed their skin for a new stage of life.. That snake was on a mission yesterday…”
I also had some very special visitors as we girls were getting ready at Hughes Park Cottage,… I went outside for some fresh air, and the entire lawn was COVERED with butterflies, easily over 100 fluttering around! It was actually quite overwhelming it was so beautiful, I was literally sitting with them as they flew around me. I truly believe it was our Nanna letting us know she was there watching.
(Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life. Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls. The Christian religion sees the butterfly as a symbol of resurrection. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life.)
Nathan’s vows and speech would have to be another two favs… those moments concreted the fact that I have married the most thoughtful, loving person, who accepts me inside and out – and what could be better than that!
The Food. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better feast in my life. Seriously if I was on death row, I would request this as my last meal. We had an interactive style dinner where all the dishes were in the centre of the tables and guests could eat whatever they wanted. We wanted to serve some of our most favourite foods as another reflection of us, and man it was a hit!!!
As I reflect more, I wouldn’t change a thing. We were surrounded by the most amazing friends and family anyone could ask for.. The whole day represented what we are about as a couple, and we had an amazing time dancing and partying til stumps.”
Kellie and Nathan, I count my lucky stars that I was able to witness the first day you called each other husband and wife. I wish you both happiness, love and health.
