The love story of Stacey and Mike is like something that you would find in a romantic movie. “We met through a mutual friend,” says Stacey. “We were friends from the get go, and that continued for about 6 months. It wasn’t until Mike thought his visa would expire that I realised I really didn’t want him to go.”
At a volleyball tournament in Collie, Mike and Stacey chatted the entire night. “He walked me home in the rain and we had our first kiss at the door step of the hotel I was staying in”. Love only blossomed from there.
When they look back in many years time, what they want to remember most about this special time in their lives is “how easy it was to fall in love. We communicate so well and I hope we continue to do so for many years to come.
Communication is key – especially when Mike is trying to teach Stacey how to play tennis! “He is a very patient teacher! We are both so busy with work that we make the most of our time together by going out for a meal once a week. We enjoy going to concerts as we both like the same music.”
We learnt about the story of their engagement after their engagement photography session with Jade Norwood Photography. “Mike wanted to be very romantic, but the weather wouldn’t permit.” Mike had planned a picnic on the foreshore in South Perth with their favourite food for his romantic proposal. Stacey, who was enjoying an afternoon nap, was oblivious to the nervousness around her as Mike moved to proposal plan B. “He ended up setting up the rug on the lounge room floor. I came out from my nap and saw the food and looked at him. He got down on one knee and told me that I meant the world to him and that he wanted to marry me. It may not have been the most romantic of places, but it sums us up. Besides, the beautiful ring made up for that!”
Stacey and Mike are getting married in March 2015, and had their engagement photo session in early 2014 as part of their wedding photography package. We don’t want to give anything away, but we are very excited about the beautiful location they have chosen for their Adelaide Hills Wedding!
