All of my Brides-to-be are given three questionnaires over the period from when they book until their wedding day. These are staggered over time, and they capture all the details I need to know about a couple, to capture their true relationship (because we all love differently), to find out how many people are in the bridal party, to the addresses of where the ceremony|reception etc will take place. There is also a section for transport, because people, I like to be prepared and I like to have all the contact numbers I can for on a Brides wedding day I want to be able to contact anyone from her vendor team if need be, you would never imagine some of the things that have happen…
Ok, so now you know a bit of the back story – when I was reading Anne-Maries (AM’s) questionnaire that related to transport, I seen this word “Eco Caddy” and she had also written that she had hired one for me also to make my day super easy… How thoughtful! Love her!! But ummmmm I had no idea what an Eco Caddy was, and I thought oh wow I cant seem dumb I have to google this.. and once I did I was like….. “This is going to be so much FUN” – and it was, SO much fun, so many laughs!!
Earlier in the week I asked Anne-Marie her favourite part of the wedding day…
“My favourite part of the day was with all of us in photos – the MC and his wife, Danni and Erika. Of course I will love photos with just the two of us which are all about love. But for me, happiness and good times are to be shared with friends so you can all relive the laughter and the moment for years to come as we reminisce and have a few bevvies.
My absolute favourite part was when it was just H and I – not posing but just chatting and soaking in the moments. When we were just sitting at the Uni doors – we were just saying how dapper the others looked and for me there was true happiness from the heart.”
Everyone knows I love the ‘How they met’ stories, here is theirs told by AM:
“We were introduced by a mutual party – I was travelling through Europe at the time and a girlfriend of mine, Sue, was emailing me to see if I would make it back to Adelaide for her wedding – I told her that yes, I would be back and to send me the invite and was looking forward to the event. Uehe also asked me if I met anyone ‘special’ on my travels to which I replied that I was just having a good time, to which she mentioned that her fiance’s brother was single and that we should meet and perhaps attend their wedding together.
Email addresses were swapped and when I got back to Adelaide I had organised to catch up with Heintje a few weeks before the wedding – we all know how random set-ups go so I figured that I valued Sue’s friendship so much that if this turned out to be a dud then there was no harm done.
So we met at Cafe Palazzo in North Adelaide and first impressions were tough but we both like what we saw and decided to catch up again the following weekend as H was a shift worker and living in the Barossa so that was the best time for him.
We caught up the following weekend and spoke mostly about my holiday (of this I am constantly reminded but H was quite reserved so I felt I had to fill the space!) and we spoke of the upcoming wedding of his brother to Sue.
We caught up each weekend before the wedding except for one time which is infamous in our relationship. After a long week at work I decided to call a friend to see if she wanted to do a spur of the moment roadtrip to Melbourne – she agreed and so we both raced home to pack and head out on our adventure. About halfway to Melbourne I remember calling H on speaker and not so subtly crushed his weekend plan of catching up with me. There must of been some kind of spark as here we are years later and we are still together.”
AM+H your whole day was amazing, from the ceremony in the City in the Meeting Hall, to the city ride around on the Eco Caddy’s, to the grand royal of reception venues, the Mortlock Wing of the South Australian State Library, to the Hungarian wedding games.
AM you are truly the epitome of a #jnbride I had the best day ever with friends, who felt like I had known for many years.
Anne-Marie + Heintje I hope you both had a moment at the reception which you could step back and have it all sink in. I wish you both all the very best for your approaching honeymoon and many happy, healthy years together.
I cant wait to hang out and eat some Sushi soon… xx
