Sarah and Dallas met through mutual friends in 2010, but didn’t hit it off straight away. “Shy Dallas tried to talk to me, but I didn’t make it easy!” Sarah says. “It took us a few meetings amongst friends to get talking properly and exchange numbers.”
Little did they know that one day, that exchange of phone numbers would turn into an exchange of rings. “After moving to WA, I knew I couldn’t let her go,” says Dallas, and it was that same moment that Sarah realised Dallas was the one she wanted to marry. “We had talked about getting married before but I didn’t really see it coming. He was acting a little weird the week before our trip to Uluru but I thought he was stressed about work.” In fact, Dallas was planning to propose on their holiday. “It was going to happen in style at the top of Ayres Rock, but we couldn’t climb as it was closed due to the weather conditions. Instead it was at the bottom in a nice spot; I pulled the ring out of my pocket, and asked ‘Do you want to wear this?’” Clearly, Sarah did!
The planning of their Port Lincoln wedding was full of last minute changes due to unforseen circumstances, but it was like it didn’t even phase the bride and groom, because this was a beautiful and well thought out wedding. Sarah wore an absolutely gorgeous Anna Campbell wedding dress with her signature beaded back and neckline detailing with matching headpiece and wrist cuff. Her bridesmaids were in short light pink bridesmaid dresses from 4Bridesmaids. Sarah added a personal touch to her wedding outfit by designing her own wedding shoes at Shoes of Prey!
Sarah was hoping to pull off a relaxed modern vintage wedding theme with bright colours. Wedding flowers by new Port Lincoln Florist Poppy and Cotton added that bright pop of colour with yellow, orange and bright pink and the boys in their purple suits looked great! They certainly popped against a cloudy sky as we visited the Winter’s Hill Lookout in Port Lincoln for wedding photos. The sky became even more dramatic and it made for brilliant beach wedding photos as well as on the jetty – the bright colours really attract the eye!
Their wedding reception was held at Boston Bay Winery in Port Lincoln, decorated with the help of Ultimate Celebrations wedding decorator. The guests used a polaroid camera to add to their messages in the wedding signing book…super cool retro touch. There were a lot of laughs when Dallas went under the gorgeous Anna Campbell wedding dress in search of the bridal garter!
It was a lovely wedding for a sweet couple who clearly can take a lot in their stride and there was a lot of fun had on Sarah and Dallas’ special day. “He has shown me the little things in life bring happiness” – We hope that this happiness continues for the many years to come. Congratulations!
