Liam and Emma first became friends through a mutual friend on Facebook. “He thought I was funny so he added me and we just slowly started talking. Our friendship (and thats all it was) was about 4 months on Facebook chat. Then we slowly started hanging out in person.” Emma said.
Emma was talking to her best friend about Liam, confused as all buggery as to what was going on and Liam had mentioned Emma to his Dad – his best mate. Emma even met Liams parents and Liam met Emmas Mum.
“I finally realised that I liked him and got the courage and told him and he friendzoned me! In the next week I was pretty gutted but still had him as a friend so I just dealt with it. Little did I know, he had talked to his Dad about the whole situation. His Dad told him he was being silly and he realised it himself. A week later he showed up to my house before an event we were going to with flowers and asking me to be his girlfriend. (In this week we had been driving around and had maid of honour Caitlin on loudspeaker who proclaimed that we were dating we just hadnt told each other yet!)” said Emma.
The engagement was expected in part by Emma. Liam’s sisters wedding was 20th December 2014 and Liam got told by his Mum not to propose before then. Emma is not a fan of proposals on significant days (birthdays, christmas etc) but in October Liam dropped the bombshell of “Emma you dont mind proposals on NYE right?”
That NYE Emma + Liam spent at Moana beach just the two of them with half the deli counter of woolies and champagne. Of course it was blowing a gale but Liam demanded that the candles were lit and he proposed there. (Side note – The car got bogged both to the spot in the sand AND as they were trying to leave?!? It just made it more real they said.)
The 9th of July 2016 at Mount Lofty House rolled around and after a few hectic months for Emma and others involved who were candidates, or who had other major roles in the current election, it was time to leave that behind and soak in the wedding day.
It was a very cool day up at Mount Lofty, but luckily for us it held off raining until late in the evening, and this was perfect because it allowed us to get some very romantic winter wonderland type shoots. Have I said anything yet about Emma’s Christian Louboutin shoes, gorgeous!
Spending so much time on the wedding day with Emma, Liam and their bridal party it was clear to see how special they were to each other with 3 girls coming from interstate and 3 of the boys as well.
There were beautiful red roses everywhere, from the brides bouquet to the center pieces of the table to petals along the bridal party. There was a lot of time and effort put into planning all of the beautiful details.
Emma and Liam have been together 18 months as dating, 18 months engagement and they couldnt imagine life without each other.
Wishing you both all the very best that life has to offer. xx
