Sally and Darren’s wedding ceremony and reception took place on the family farm and holiday home, and with hints of aqua/tiffany blue and lace in the wedding favours, then meeting the most loveliest people, I knew I was on to a winner.
If you want to see an amazing farm come holiday house – this is it! I met with the bride and her bridesmaids here as they finished getting ready on the morning of the wedding. Each of the bridesmaids wore a different style of custom dress to suit their individual tastes in peaches and pinks, also reflected in their wedding flowers. Sally was a beautiful bride in her strapless Elizabeth de Varga dress from Bridal on Pulteney and her all white bouquet. Her engagement ring shone against the bouquet that was decorated with beautiful pins – stunning!
The boys seem to have enjoyed their morning and had some fun posing with the Lamb family truck – part of their business heritage, before the ceremony. The truck was pulled up at the ceremony location as another nod to the families, their history, and the future. I loved the wedding ribbons on the wedding truck!
The path from the house to the ceremony location overlooking the beach was lined with paper lanterns, and Sally beamed the entire time as she made her way to Darren, hand in hand with her Dad. “Darren is extremely kind and self sacrificing. He always puts others first and supports me through everything,” said Sally. Even during their ceremony, Darren had his arm around his soon to be wife supporting, encouraging and showing his affection for his bride. “Sally is the most beautiful person I have ever met, she cares for all things great and small. She has no limits with what she wants to experience in life. “
After the ceremony, the bridal party made their way on to the private mooring for photographs, then they were left to enjoy the party while just Sally, Darren and I took portrait photos in the beautiful bush surrounds and more on the mooring again, which is obviously where Darren and Sally take off for their fishing trips when on the Eyre Peninsula. “We like to travel and see new things. We love fishing and walking in the bush.” I think this side of their personality is perfectly summed up in their wedding photographs.
The couple and their families are so lovely and down to earth, I loved meeting them all. “Darren likes to watch funny cat videos!” says Sally. Not that she’s one to talk; “Sally wants a wheelbarrow full of orang-utans!” Just the very fact that they were willing to share with me these little silly things about one and other shows you how honest, open, loving and fun they are! The sign at the reception saying ‘no spewing in the garden’ also had me in stitches, love it!
The reception was held in a marquee on the farm property and the dance floor was filled with special little guests early on but all was halted for the speeches. Sally shed some silent emotional tears, which soon turned into laughter thanks to the special people in hers and Darren’s life sharing their love and stories with the crowd. The reception tables were decorated with fresh flowers on mirror centrepieces, a lolly dessert buffet was very inviting for the guest (probably why the kids were so active on the dancefloor!) and the 3 tier wedding cake was all white with a different detail on each layer. It was a beautiful night topped off with sunset photos on the farm to add to their wedding album.
