I love it when west coast weddings get to be feature amongst the best of the best in South Australia.
Want to know a few tips on how to get your wedding featured in a magazine or on a blog?
So no doubt you’ve spent your time planning your special day using beautiful wedding magazines, and now you’re dreaming of being one of the weddings featured in them. We love to share your weddings with our favourite magazines with your permission, but when there are so many other brides with the same idea, how do you stand out? We asked Laura Prior, Editorial Assistant at Brides of Adelaide Magazine for her thoughts.
“The ability to admire and present real, honest, everlasting love in its purest form is an incredibly cherished part of what we do here at Brides of Adelaide Magazine. We absolutely love perusing the gorgeously creative Real Wedding Submissions we receive on a daily basis. When selecting our absolute favourites for inclusion in the magazine or blog, we look for delightful attention to detail, innovative decor ideas, show-stopping delights, distinctive or quirky styling elements and an array of thought-provoking colour palettes that truly inspire our future brides-to-be!”
So to stand out from the pack, think about the following when planning your wedding: -What makes your wedding UNIQUE and a must share for magazine editors? Whether a theme idea, food, or celebration is unique to you and your relationship or to weddings as a whole, your one of a kind idea will get lots of attention.
– DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS, big or small they all make up your wedding story and give brides the ideas that they might not know to search for in their own planning. Not only will you need attention to detail, but you’ll also need the time to have these photographed to make up your gallery where photographs will be chosen from.
– DISTINCTIVE STYLE – be sure of your style and theming, and bring it out in all elements of your wedding day – mixing and matching themes, colour schemes and ideas will make your style unclear and hard to describe to an audience.
– Be brave – stick to your heart, personality and if you want an ‘out there’ theme or to use a quirky idea that goes against the grain, do it. It will truly represent you as a couple, and will also catch the eye of bridal magazine editors.
Understand that there are thousands upon thousands of submissions to wedding magazines and websites, so be sure to not be offended if your wedding doesnt get featured.
