Wedding season might be full on, but we don’t forget about celebrating engagements with beautiful engagement photography amongst all the business! So it’s time to share this story from Kim and Stevens e-shoot.
After chatting for a while online, Kim and Steven met at a pub on Unley Road, Adelaide. Doing the right thing, Steven went a got a drink for the pair, bringing back a schooner of beer for himself (285 ml) and a pint for Kim (425 ml). “We still laugh about that today!”
They had talked before about getting married, so when the time came to propose, Steven wanted to go to Bell and Brunt jewellers for the engagement ring; this was where his Mum and Sister’s wedding rings are from, and he wanted to keep up the tradition. “It was my birthday on July 20th, and I had arranged dinner for the night before (a Saturday). After being out all day, we were getting ready to go and he asked if I wanted to open a present. Of course I said yes!”
Steven had a collage made up in the shape of a love heart, containing all pictures of him and Kim and at the bottom it read ‘Will You Marry Me?’ “I burst into tears (as did he) and he says he can’t even remember asking me, but I remember!” They finished getting ready and surprised everyone at the birthday dinner with the engagement ring and story!
We love engagement photos, because they tell the more casual side of your relationship – a true representation of you and your love. “We can be ourselves completely when we’re together. Good, bad, silly, crazy, moody – we just complete each other!”
I was unfortunately booked for their wedding day, but seeing as they loved my style of photography, I was glad to join them in their engagement shoot. “I adore photos so I jumped at the chance (for an engagement shoot). I love the sun glare shots and the style of photography that is so in at the moment “
They thought they weren’t going to be great at having their pictures taken, but I think they look naturally beautiful in their engagement photos – wishing you all the best for a wonderful married life Kim and Steven. May there be many pints, or schooners, for you to say cheers with!
