We revealed Elise and Blake’s love story and that gorgeous opal and diamond engagement ring after their engagement shoot. We fell in love with their humour and excitement, and their love for each other. “We want to remember (and hopefully will still have!) the laughter in the future. We laugh all the time! Even in an argument one of us will make a joke and we can’t keep a straight face or stay mad at each other. “
With their wedding planning involving raspberry lace bridesmaid dresses, lots of fresh flowers, and simple and elegant theming, we couldn’t wait for their Port Lincoln wedding in early April. They chose to be married in an outdoor ceremony using the garden at Flinders Park, which had been named in honour of Elise’s grandparents who spent a lot of time maintaining the gardens until they got to old to do so. “Planning the wedding has been fun, it hasn’t been as stressful as I thought it would be.”
Elise’s wedding dress had a sheer back and sleeves which allowed for beautiful beaded detail to fall beneath her hair, matched only by her shoes with the sparkly heels! The wedding bouquet was filled with white flowers and pops of pink roses to match the raspberry lace bridesmaid dresses (love!). It was a wonderful morning spent with her friends and special flowergirl, with a seriously sweet present delivered from her class of receptions – pictures and drawings from the wonderful students who share Elise’s day!
Elise and Blake wanted to include their parents in the wedding day in more than just the traditional role of walking the bride down the aisle. “We had a marriage blessing written into our ceremony – our Pastor requested that our parents stand and he asked if they give their blessing to our marriage. We also had our friends and family stand and give their blessing too. We thought it was a really special way of getting our parents involved, and also our extended family and friendship group.” They also asked their siblings to share in the important roles; “we each only have one sibling, so have asked them to be our witness during the ceremony.”
The gorgeous flowergirl Mac, daughter of the Maid of Honour, really stole the show, fluffing about Elise’s train, spilling rose petals and with a curtsey to rival any royal! The smile on Elise and Blake’s faces were enormous and remained for the fun bridal party photos had at various locations around Port Lincoln. Elise and Blake wanted the opportunity for different wedding photo looks which we managed thanks to versatile landscapes around Port Lincoln. I also loved catching the girls group selfie on camera!
Personalised lollies were the sweet gift for the guests at the ceremony, and a polaroid camera used for the guest book was a lot of fun! I loved the cake – a 3 tier creation in pink/rasberry ombre colours topped with fresh flowers. Matching vases of flowers adorned the table as centrepieces alongside unique wooden table numbers. Elise and Blake wanted to make sure everyone had a fantastic time at their wedding – just as much fun as they were going to – and they clearly succeeded! I don’t think Blake and his mates stopped laughing all day! Elise was really thinking about everyone else on her wedding day, and even included a yellow ribbon for Stephanie Scott who was meant to share the same wedding date.
To a wonderful couple with hearts of gold, I hope you enjoy reliving your beautiful wedding day in photos, and wish you all the joy in the world.
