Louise and Michael started their romance early, back in the Primary School days in fact! But when Michael moved away it looked like the end. Years later, Louise found herself in Mitre 10 being served by a cute guy. “I thought he was hot! He served me and said I think we used to go out!” But Louise couldn’t place the face – until her friend told her it was Michael….there were many more trips to Mitre 10 after that!
Michael once told Louise that she had been in the back of his mind since Primary School, so it was little wonder that after they started seeing each other again, he wanted to propose. “Mick had a romantic dinner planned, then a nice walk along the beach, only I didn’t want to do anything so I made it very difficult for him to proceed with his plans!” Thankfully, Louise gave in to going for a walk and couldn’t work out why Michael was so happy to go….until later when he dropped down on one knee with an engagement ring box in his hand! “He said “you have made this so hard for me! I love you” and he asked me to marry him, I said of course!”
On March 22nd 2014, Michael and Louise were married in a wedding ceremony at Spear Creek Station. Their wedding in regional SA was to be a modern country wedding with a hint of bling, and both the bride and groom were looking forward to “marrying our best friend and celebrating with the people that mean most to us”.
Louise surprised her bridesmaids in the morning with a beautiful gift, a personalised wooden jewellery box filled with their wedding jewellery. Their beautiful bridal bouquets were filled with white and peach flowers, with silver and green foliage for that vintage country look. They perfectly matched the earthy green strapless bridesmaids dresses. Louise’s wedding dress was also strapless with beautiful beaded detail and was accentuated by her gorgeous wedding jewellery.
The rustic wedding ceremony was decorated with hessian and lace, and the bride walked down a hessian aisle. It was such a beautiful garden wedding ceremony in the stunning Flinders Ranges! After the ceremony, the bridal party disappeared for photos, which turned out to follow the rustic/country wedding photos theme – the Flinders Ranges made a gorgeous backdrop. We even got to use a vintage couch for some fantastic wedding photos. We then travelled back to join the party again at the reception held at West Augusta Football Club – but not before a cheeky drink to celebrate as husband and wife!
The wedding ceremony was decorated with touches of bling and the same colour as the bridesmaids dresses. As a personalised touch, Louise and Michael used their engagement photo printed on canvas as their wedding guest book. They even had personalised lollies for their bonbonniere! Louise called the wedding planning “crazy, but fun!” and it had been almost 2 years in the making! Now wonder it turned out so well!
Michael says that “Louise is there for me all the time, she is everything I need and so much more than I ever wanted.” They are a couple who can see the funny side and make each other smile no matter the situation, which has only strengthened their relationship. “Mick is my rock, although he is not serious all the time and that annoys me, he is always there for me and makes me feel like I’m the only girl in the world.” To the newest Mr and Mrs Venning, congratulations on a beautiful country wedding day and all the best for your future together.
