When should I book our family session?

When should I book our family session?

No matter what the event or idea behind your photography session is, the answer to the question ‘when should I book a photographer’ is…as early as possible! The diaries of talented and popular photographers are filled well in advance, particularly for popular times of the year, for family shoots (mothers day, fathers day, Christmas), and while it may come as a surprise – newborns are booked in before they even enter the world.

So whether you are having a Christmas family shoot or an art portrait with your horses, here is a rough guide for your bookings:

Newborn shoots: While you can’t know when the actual newborn photoshoot will be, you can tee up an approximate time with your newborn photographer so they can allow room to move in their diary around your due date. Booking as early as the 12 week mark will ensure you get the newborn photographer and beautiful pictures you want and can cherish for a lifetime.

Family Shoots: Given the time it takes to edit and produce your photographs, even looking to make a booking one month in advance can be too late. This rings particularly true around Christmas time when families are looking to do a family Christmas portrait they can give as gifts – most photographers won’t even take bookings for November for Christmas styled photoshoots. To ensure you get the gifts wrapped in time, book your family portrait for a date 2 months before you need the pictures, but make the actual booking even earlier than that to secure your ideal photographer.

It’s never too early to book your photographer, so put Jade’s number in your speed dial and let her be the first to know when you fall pregnant or your mum is turning 50!

While the end of year is still six months away, photography sessions are filling up quick. Being very busy with wedding season at the end of the year Jade only has a handful of family portrait sessions available, if you would like to schedule in for family photos to be given out at christmas time there are only a limited number of sessions available in September and October 2013. So remember get in quick to avoid disappointment!

Hannemann Family Photos

Hannemann Family Photos

I was privileged  to meet the Hannemann family a few months ago while they were celebrating Andrea’s birthday at Baird’s Bay. It was such a great time to get family photos while they were all together at the same place:) Everyone was so easy and a pleasure to work, with I had so much fun, lots of laughs, maybe more at me being silly, than with me… but hey… I am happy to do anything for people to feel natural in front of the camera and to have fun.

I love that I get to travel, see the country side and always meeting new people. The Hannemann’s are such a lovely, beautiful family, thank you so much for allowing me to share in your special weekend.

Family isn’t
always blood. It is
people in your life who
want you in theirs;
the ones who accept
you for who you are.
The ones who would
do anything to see
you smile & who
LOVE YOU
no matter what.

Family Photos | Kirsty, Brad and Lola

A week ago, Kirsty and Brad came to pick me up and we headed off to Mckenzies Ruins for a few pictures before we went to pick up lovely Lola and then went onto Smoky Bay for some family photos. I just love it when people include their dogs in their sessions, they become such a big part of our lives and truly are a member of the family.

Lola was such a good model.. lol… and Im sure it didnt have anything to do with me being a total fool, and making all sorts of noises to get her looking hehehe. It was such a nice evening and sunset, but I couldnt go past sharing the gorgeous pic of them all siting on the beach.
I can’t  wait for our next session, which is sure to be an engagement shoot. (lol) Enjoy:) xx
