Make up Artist | Nanette Chandler + Jodi Heath

People that have been following my photography for a little while now, may remember seeing the beautiful baby girl twins that I was lucky enough to photographer, which seems like many moons ago now… well, it was finally time for them and their big brother to see their Mum and Dad get married:)

I met with Lisa and her wonderful bridesmaids, Mum and other helpers the night before the wedding, it was such a calm balmy night… There were still so many jobs to be done as there always is the night before the wedding, so Lisa and I only had a few minutes to duck off and look at a couple of locations for photos. Lisa told me about this picture she had in her mind, and as you will see a little later when you scroll down, I think she did an awesome job of pulling it off.

As I was sitting here thinking about what to write… I was thinking about the weather… and you know, alot of the time I do talk about the weather, and I thought, oh perhaps I should be coming at this from another angle.. but no!! When people talk about weddings it is very often followed by, it was such a beautiful day.. or it was blowing gale… etc…. because most weddings at the moment are opting for an outdoor ceremony! Well as I said just before the day before Lisa and Brads wedding was absolutely gorgeous!! I checked the weather, and yep looked like it was going to be a great for the wedding day too, same winds forecasted!! Well I woke up on the morning of the wedding and it had rained and it was ‘blowing a gale’… I am a glass half full girl, and every weather situation has it pros and cons. We really couldnt have asked for a better day for photos, check out the skys, dramatic…. and check out the wind blowing that material, now we couldnt have got that if it was a calm balmy day like the day before:)

The beaches at Streaky are just so lovely… While on the beach organising the bridal party for another photo, they all starting yelling (because at that point I was a fair way away.. and down wind!) to turn around… A pod of dolphins where playing in the surf! Perfect!

What a great day I had… I really do have the best job in the world:) Thank you so much Lisa + Brad for allowing me to be part of your special day, wishing you both and your children all the very best. Enjoy xx

Love Being an Adelaide Wedding Photographer

Love Being an Adelaide Wedding Photographer

The advantage of being a photographer is that you can do your job all over the world, and the effort you make in travelling is rewarded with endless opportunities to challenge your skills. New scenery, new backdrops, and new subjects will test amateurs, but bring out the best in great photographers.

As a wedding photographer who is willing to go the distance, Jade Norwood has risen to and above this challenge, capturing precious memories for each of her clients in their cherished locations. Most recently, Adelaide weddings have been filling the diary of this Eyre Peninsula wedding photographer, and she couldn’t be happier with the opportunities.

“My favourite Adelaide wedding locations so far… Oh my gosh… its so hard for me to choose because each location has its pros and cons! Ummm I will go with the K1 Winery in McLaren Vale. My mind wouldn’t stop, it was just constantly going over where we could move to next for the perfect shot,” said Jade. “But most importantly, where we were was really meaningful to my Bride and Groom, and that made the photos all the more special.”

As a Bride in regional South Australia choosing to have her wedding in Adelaide, finding an Adelaide wedding photographer can prove to be a nightmare. This is the Bride’s advantage in falling in love with a travelling photographer – they’ll go where you ask them to, be close by for any pre-wedding meetings, and like Jade, they are ready to bring out the best in the location that means so much to you and your wedding day.

“I’ve done weddings in the city and through many locations arounds Adelaide, but doing a wedding in the Clare Valley would be a dream – a mix of farming properties, vineyards and beautiful old churches give the ideal backdrop for that ‘wow’ wedding photo. Having an outdoor reception with lots of unique vintage details and gorgeous lighting would just be awesome.”

Adelaide Brides aren’t stuck with Adelaide wedding photographers either; “Your wedding photos should be exactly what you dream of – a true reflection of how you view your day, don’t restrict yourself to a search inside your immediate area. Like me, a lot of regional wedding photographers are just waiting for the opportunity to travel to a new location where they can capture something amazing.”

So don’t write off your favourite photographer because of a bit of distance – give them a call. You never know, it could be the start of a beautiful long distance relationship!

Happy New Year everyone
I hope you all have had a fantastic night and are enjoying yourself today and I wish you all the best for the 2013.
Coming in the next few weeks I am going to recap my 2012, and fill you in on my goals for 2013. One of whch is trying to get my head around SEO; hence the change in the blog posts! And…… to also have a website along with my blog… More about all that later!

In November I meet with Tegan and Matt at their wedding location, K1, to chat about their wedding day and to also have their engagement session.
The locations around that area are just stunning, and cant wait to get back their for the wedding day!

Ummmm I may have had a total flatty, getting a puncture in the wall of my tyre!! So I left my car in the Kuipto forrest and jumped in with Tegan and Matt to go to Port Noarlunga for sunset.

It was such an awesome night… Check out the colours of the sunset for yourself!

Tegan, I can’t wait till your wedding day, I love all of your ideas and you are going to be a stunning Bride:)

Adelaide Wedding Photographer | Brown sneak peek

Adelaide Wedding Photographer | Brown sneak peek

Yesterday I had the absolute honor of photographing Carissa and Locky’s wedding, and thought to myself I am soooo lucky to be an Adelaide Wedding Photographer.

I have been sitting here for about 20 minutes trying to put into words everything I want to say.. I’m not sure if I am going to put my thought into words justice.. but here goes…

I woke up early Saturday morning and there was no wind! I was like YES, this is going to be an awesome day, I always `believe` I am going to get good weather for wedding days, but I have to admit that Friday, here in Ceduna, had me a little worried.

Marie and I headed out to the ceremony a little earlier than we normally do, so that we could get lots of photos of the boys and guests arriving.

The ceremony was very moving and it brought a tear to my eye to see Locky and Carissa both so so happy.

I know it was special for them to have their parents, sisters and brothers at the wedding, who have all traveled from as far as Canada & Melbourne to attend the day.

It was so nice to meet Cassie, the Maid of Honor , who also traveled so many km’s from Canada, and then the lovely Adelaide – Ceduna drive to be there for Carissa.

I have known Locky’s parents, Ali and Paul for many years and they are two of the nicest, thoughtful and big hearted people I know. Only meeting Carrisa’s parents yesterday there is no wonder why she has turned into the beautiful person she is. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you both.

A big thank you to the bridal party & car drivers, you were all a dream to work with, it helps get so many different combinations and setups when everyone is so willing to try different things and moves quickly, so thank you once again, I really appreciate it.

As for images to share for a sneak peek… well oh my.. this was just ever so hard!!
I decided to share a few of the gorgeous couple, a few details of the reception and a bridal party photo, that gives a kinda overall “feel” for the day doesnt it??
There is just so many even more amazing images (and I still haven’t looked at them all yet) but you will all have to wait till Carissa and Locky have picked their favourites!
Enjoy these few for a sneak peek:)

Gorgeous hand made guest sign in book

The magical reception was designed by Bay Funktion

Amazing cake created by Sharnie Mahar

I cant wait to share so many more with you Carissa and Locky:)
Congratulations on a beautiful day and best of luck & happiness for your future together. xxxx
