Sarah + Benn’s Wedding

Sarah + Benn’s Wedding

Sarah and Benn become husband and wife in romantic style in front of the gorgeous Martindale Hall. Every moment and every detail were just perfect. All of the locations offered a backdrop of rustic, country, glamour’s tranquility which is my absolute fav. Sarah was effortlessly stunning all day and Benn was a handsome true gentleman.

I absolutely love “how we met” stories and Sarah + Benn’s is no exception. (I am also now thinking I have to go to Clare race’s… Who’s coming?)
“I first saw Benn in a home movie that my brother and his mates made when they were at school at Urrbrae. Benn was one of my brothers friends, and I though that he was pretty cute. This was back when I was still in Year 9 and Benn as in Year 12.
It wasn’t until years later that we saw each other at the Clare races (classy) and got talking.
The next year at the Clare races, we bumped into each other again, and basically spent the whole day hanging out together with my brother and Benn’s friends.
Benn messaged me the next day and it all happened from there.”

I asked Sarah what special touches they had added in to their wedding (and I can say how much love I have for the response) – “We have tried to keep all of our vendors local to showcase the beauty of the Clare Valley and all that it has to offer. The videographer is a primary school friend of Sarah’s and is the son of the current caretakers of the Hall. The entertainment (Brad Bryksy Music) is also an old friend of Sarah’s.
There are a lot of sentimental elements to the day. The location of the ceremony is very sentimental to me (Sarah) as I grew up on the farm that surrounds the Hall. I spent my childhood visiting the Hall, riding motorbikes with my brother to the creek that runs past the Hall, having bbq’s down at the creek, going to the Hall on school visits etc. It holds a very significant place in my heart, and has always been my dream to get married there.
The car that I (Sarah) will arrive in belonged to my Great Grandmother, and is now owed by my brother.
The mustang that Benn and I will leave the wedding in and arrive to the reception in belongs to Benn’s father Mark.
The brooch that I will wear on my bouquet has quite a bit of family significance. It was originally given to Margaret (Maggie) Parks on her wedding day by her husband Adam Lindsay Gordon. Adam was a famous Australian poet, and is the only Australian to have his bust in the poets corner of Westminster Abbey. The tradition of the brooch is that it has been passed down to the first born female in each generation and worn on her wedding day. I (Sarah) feel very blessed to be part of this tradition.
The first dance song is significant as it will be a Frank Sinatra song. Sarah late Poppa’s favourite singer was Sinatra.
All of these things are very significant, and will make the day all the more special.” (I agree 100%…)

You two 10’s, the epitome of #jnbrides + #jngrooms I just cant thank you enough for such a fun, relaxed, amazing day. I wish you both a life time of health, love, laughter (and Sahara’s ;))

We don’t know much about you Jade, what can you tell us about yourself?

We don’t know much about you Jade, what can you tell us about yourself?

Bride-to-be FAQ – Q: We don’t know much about you Jade, what can you tell us about yourself?

A: Im not one of these photographers that will tell you I love coffee (because I don’t drink it) and do handy crafts on a Sunday… Lets be honest if I don’t have a wedding on a Sunday, Im on the road travelling, and then downloading, backing up and starting to work on Saturdays wedding.

Im very practical and just say it like it is…

I was raised in the country, in small town called Ceduna; which I still call home, and think I always will. And ok, I wasn’t the girly girl who played dress ups and played with barbies. I rode horses and played in the dirt. I wasn’t the little girl that planned my dream wedding, I have never been the girl that bought wedding magazines dreaming about my wedding. I guess being a romantic at heart has made be fall hard for weddings. I just love, LOVE.

I can ‘Mcguiver’ a lot of things – if something is broken, just find me a paperclip and some twine, I’ll sort it! I am a bit of a perfectionist, which has it pros and cons but I will go with more pros!

I will tell you that I am a fanatic for tennis and netball, and as much as I love the beach, I don’t get there enough. I love animals and my family means the world to me, whether that is blood family or friends I choose to be family.

I’m told I have an infectious laugh and I guarantee you I can make you laugh… Even is that means me just making a fool of myself to make you forget that the camera is even there!

I always have my music as loud as it can go in my car, I sing along of course, and have had the awkward moment when you’re singing the best song ever, as loud as you can… and your navigation system cuts in, stops the song and you hear yourself… eeekkkkk safe to say I quickly changed that setting!

Today I’m a wedding photographer living in between Ceduna and Adelaide. I shoot weddings and ensure your first day as husband and wife is etched in your hearts and minds as the best day of your lives. I’d love to chat more about the wedding of your dreams, so feel free to look around my website or simply send me an email for more information. You can read more about me here and here.

Ashlea + Anthony’s Wedding Day

Ashlea + Anthony’s Wedding Day

Ashlea and Anthony’s wedding was held at the beautiful Glen Ewin Estate, and it was a special celebration. Every detail of this beautiful marriage was completely delightful and I am sure you will be swept up into the magic and emotion. We had glorious sunlight, had some cloud coverage, and we even had a few spots of rain which added some sparkle to their photos that will remain in their memories and heart. Their love for one another is clearly evident, with the smiles they shared and the way the looked at each other. Encircled by their joyful family, wedding party and friends, we are all honoured to have witnessed an unforgettable day.

If you didn’t know already, I absoutley love hearing how couples met. Here is Ashlea and Anthony’s amazing story by Ashlea.
“We met at Oktoberfest in Munich in 2013. Anthony was travelling through Europe on a Contiki tour and I was travelling around Europe with my younger brother (Jarred) and another friend. Anthony’s tour was only in Munich and attending Oktoberfest for one night, I was in Munich for 5 nights.
At Oktoberfest you must line up within the festival to enter specific tents and beer gardens, once you go in, you are seated at random by the hosts. Anthony and his mates happened to be seated at the table right next to the one where we were seated. While

I was lined up for the ladies room, Jarred overheard the aussie accent from the table next door, when some people left, he moved across to that table to chat with the fellow Australians. When I came back I ended up sitting next to Anthony. During this conversation we realised we were both from Adelaide, and actually lived only 15 minutes apart. Anthony thought that Jarred & I were dating (haha – gross!!), luckily that issue was cleared up pretty quickly and he was told that the relationship was actually brother – sister. After a few beers and some hilarious conversation Anthony asked if he could put his phone number in my phone, which I agreed to – it was saved as “Anthony – Nice guy from Adelaide”, really original haha. As the festival was closing both of our groups left together to try and find our way back to the train station. We managed to get lost, so we wondered the streets of Munich for around an hour before we finally managed to find the right train station, this obviously allowed for more chatting and getting to know each other. Both of us then got on our respective trains, Anthony going one way, and me going the other (let’s not leave out that we both got on the wrong trains initially).

We added each other on Facebook and the rest is pretty much history. We caught up the day after Anthony returned from Europe, our first date was to grab a coffee and take a long walk down Brighton beach. After that first date we never went more than a few days without seeing each other. We moved in together after only about 4 months of dating, which I’m sure sounds crazy to a lot of people!! Fortunately we both have amazing families who have been so supportive of our relationship right from the start, so that just made it so much easier.”

I love to hear about the proposal; and here is their story by Ashlea…
“Anthony proposed on our 2 year anniversary at Brighton Beach where we had our first date. He had planned an entire day of surprise activities for me, which was so thoughtful and lovely. I’d definitely never had anybody plan a day just for me before.

Every Friday for several months leading up to this ‘surprise day’ he would give me a hint about what kind of activities we would be doing. His hints were terrible, and even when I finally did guess an activity he still didn’t tell me haha. I definitely had a feeling a proposal might be coming, seeing as marriage was something we had talked about a lot. Anthony is completely useless at being deceptive; he normally has the truth written all over his face!

In the morning we went to Morialta Falls, we went on a beautiful scenic walk to see the waterfalls. We then went home and got changed, I was told to dress ‘nicely’. Anthony drove me out to K1 winery, a truly stunning cellar door in the Adelaide Hills. We did some wine tastings and sat out on the beautiful deck over the water, the weather was perfect. Then we went to D’Arenberg restaurant and had a delicious degustation lunch, I was certainly very spoilt!! On the way home, Anthony suggested we stop at the beach for a walk considering the weather was so nice, he took me down to Brighton Beach. We went for a walk along the water edge and he was definitely acting weird haha, so that kind of tipped me off. We then just sat on a towel on the sand for a while enjoying the beautiful weather, when we went to leave, I stood up and turned around and Anthony was on one knee and asked me to Marry him, he pulled out the most beautiful ring, I was speechless. After saying “are you serious?” about 5 times I managed to say yes. Hilariously he couldn’t remember which finger he was meant to put the ring on, so he just handed me the box!”

Wishing you both a lifetime of laughs, love and great times.

Golding Winery Adelaide Hills Wedding | Paige + Cameron

Golding Winery Adelaide Hills Wedding | Paige + Cameron

You have no idea how hard it was to not share photos of this wedding before now (ok we may have sneaked out a few you might have seen on the blog, if you look super close!), we have been waiting for the newest Brides of Adelaide to go on sale! Super big congrats to Paige and Cameron for being featured in BOA!! There was so many beautiful elements to their wedding, from the on trend wedding decorations to little unique wedding touches like polka dot socks for the guys, there was something to love everywhere I looked.

If you’re not sure how to incorporate different colours at your wedding without it looking like a clown threw up, then you need to talk to Paige! Paige, who owns the business Olive You Occasions, she had splashes of red, white, blue, pink and even orange; it was quirky and beautiful, and not a thing looked out of place. They describe their wedding vibe as fun, colourful, relaxed and personal; “Cam’s love of colours and fun (was our inspiration). Nothing too uptight!” Of the wedding planning, Paige said it was “easy, I haven’t taken anything too seriously.”

Paige and Cameron were married at Golding Winery in the Adelaide Hills. I knew that this was going to be a fun and relaxed day, because that’s exactly how their engagement shoot was, where we learnt about their love of their dogs, their mutual sense of humour and their regular date nights.

Looking back at their engagement photos, I can now see why Paige said she was having a ‘different’ hair style, but I had thought she was rocking the exact look I’d pictured her in! With her curly hair smoothed, curled and pinned to the side, red lips with matching nails, a beautiful fitted Liza Emanuele wedding dress and hair piece, Paige was the essence of glamour. The boys in the checked red, white and blue shirts, bowties and brown shoes, with blue suits to match the bridesmaids, who work dark navy dresses in different styles.

Before the ceremony, we did one of my favourite things, a FIRST LOOK! My heart was beating as Paige snuck up on Cameron who was waiting patiently beside the Golding Winery dam. She covered his eyes, and then he turned around to greet his beautiful bride, who did a little twirl and showed off her gorgeous dress. They kissed, cuddled, and of course my camera caught it all discreetly! Paige and Cameron were beaming from ear to ear as they enjoyed their moment together, after which we joined with the rest of the bridal party for some portraits.

After the fun of the first look photos, it was hard to believe that there was still a whole day of love and enjoyment left. Before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony. In front of friends and family, Paige and Cameron exchanged their vows under a shining sky. Their outdoor wedding ceremony in the gardens of Golding Winery was just stunning in its simplicity.

After the ceremony I took off the with the bridal party for some additional portrait shots, but with all the photos we took during the first look before the ceremony, Paige and Cam were able to surprise the guests and join them for the reception celebrations early – a definite advantage to having first look photos.

Fresh flowers in eclectic vases graced every table at the reception and a hanging floral arrangement had a real WOW impact. The flowers were organised by Paige’s mum and the team at Just Wedding Flowers. I loved it. Like I mentioned earlier, their big day was so reflective of their fun personalities and quirky characteristics….they even cut the cake to the song ‘Galumph Went The Little Green Frog’, a Playschool and swimming lesson favourite which apparently Paige sings daily (and I have to admit, at family/kid sessions I pull this one out myself hahah)!

Cameron had also made a heap of custom wedding signs for the wedding ceremony and reception, and of course the PhotoBooth, a super cool photobooth car! The couple used the social media tag #paigeandcamwedo and I loved being able to contribute their sneak peek photos to the stream!

On a personal note, something I love about weddings are the people I meet, and I had a great time getting to know Paige’s lovely Nan.

The last moment I shared with Paige and Cameron was as they swayed around the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. With a twinkle in his eye Cam dipped Paige and she beamed back up at him. A gorgeous moment for a gorgeous couple, captured for eternity in their wedding photos. Congratulations Paige and Cam, I’ll be gushing about this one for a long time to come!

Mr + Mrs Vermeulen

Last weekend we celebrated the romantic wedding of Mr and Mrs Vermeulen on a lovely day in North Shields.

This beuaitful couple along with their treasured family, friends and a delightful wedding party shared so many wonderful moments. The joy and heart felt moments shared by everyone at this special occasion will steal your heart, the speeches surely had tears rolling down my cheeks. I consider myself lucky to have been at their wedding. Seeing Nicky, Kieren + Kaiden altogether was just gorgeous. Wishing you all many laughs, happy moments + health.
